EEO Essentials
Illegal workplace harassment is unwelcome behavior that bullies, intimidates, embarrasses, coerces, or insults others at work because they belong to a “protected group,” as defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or EEOC. This course provides a succinct overview of the protections and the groups the EEOC protects from harassment in the workplace. Beginning with a clear introduction to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), this course teaches the employee rights and protections that are addressed and guaranteed through Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Extended via Acts such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and the Age Discrimination and Employment Act, the EEO rights available to U.S. employees via “protected groups” and “protected activity” are thoroughly explained in this course. Present this course so all employees understand the full range of their rights and protections for fair and equitable access to, and participation in, employment.
